Loch Lomond- 3rd till 5th October

....and Helen and Josh makes four.  One of our hopes for this trip was that we'd be able to share parts of it with our friends or family, so we're thrilled that our good friends, and all-round fabulous people, Helen and Josh have joined us for an epic adventure through the highlands and islands of Scotland.
We wanted them to fit it with the locals.
Our first stop was Loch Lomond, a short drive north of Glasgow but a world away.  We stayed in a great campground right on the shores of the Loch and on the edges of the village Luss.  The weather was fairly terrible but we didn't let it slow us down too much.  We went on a walk around the village countryside and also took a ferry to the island of Inchcailloch.

About to cruise the Loch.

Together at last.

The town of Luss was very picturesque....
...but they had a strange number of meerkat garden ornaments

Loving the Scottish autumnal colours

After leaving Luss we headed east toward Pitlochry.  On the way we stopped to visit the ruins of Inchmahome Priory, located on an island in the Lake of Menteith.  The ruins were very picturesque and we had a lovely walk around the island, despite the driving rain.

Finally I must add that half of these photos were taken by the lovely Helen!  Thanks!
